FARs or Federal Aviation Regulations define everything we do in flying. How we can operate, part 91 or what licences we can get, see part 61.

see www.faa.gov and look up FAR's.

Student Pilot Certificate-be at least 16, speak/understand English, get a medical, and you're a student.

Private Pilot-17 y/o , least 40 hrs and...

Commercial Pilot-18 y/o, needs 250 hrs and ...

Then you can add ratings such as

Instrument Pilot

or another category/class such as Multi-Engine land

or try single engine Sea plane!!

Endorsements: Taildraggers, complex, high performance

Move up with checkouts in other aircraft, keep the excitement alive, talk to friends, continue the education!
